MBIS Am/ Can Gh Slaton’s Hunk of Burn’n Love, Can CD, CGN (“Hercules) was born February 23, 2000 in Canton, Ohio USA.

Following his father (BISS Am/Can Ch. Kennebank Theodore Von Linc TT Am/Can CD/ WPX and great grandfather (BIS Am/Can Ch Kennebank Lincoln Von Abraham TT Am/Can CD, Hercules has enjoyed a wonderful show career in Canada and the United States.

Always owner handled “Herc” earned his Canadian Championship July 17,2001 under All Breed Canadian Judge Sharon Francis.

A few months later on October 17, 2001 he completed the last leg of his Companion Dog Title under Canadian Judge Michael Calhoun at the Island Dog Club Show and Trials.

These titles did not come easy with Hercules earning most of his points to complete his Canadian Championship at the Group Judging Level and there were some interesting moments in the Obedience Ring.

Hercules was an “entertainer” in the Obedience Ring.

On more than one occasion he decided to leave the ring on the recall…jumping over the ring gates and back in coming to a sit in front of me awaiting my command to finish. He also liked to have a quick nap during the down exercise!

All Breed Canadian Judge Barb Iness awarded Hercules his first Working Group win on June 6, 2002 at the South Shore Kennel Club Show and Trials…the first of twenty-six over his show career.

Hercules earned his Canine Good Neighbor Certificate June 8, 2002 at the Oromocto Shows in New Brunswick…. the same weekend he won the Working Group all four shows.

We earned our first Best In Show under Canadian All Breed Judge Michel Bouchard September 9, 2002 at the Pictou County Kennel Club Show and Trials. In addition judges Heather Langfield, Cheryl Myers-Egerton and Breeder Judge Dave Patterson have awarded Hercules a Best In Show.

After a successful show May 21, 2005 in Vacationland, Maine, Hercules completed his American Kennel Club Championship under Judge Bud Haverstock.

Hercules placed in the Top Five Show dogs in his breed between 2001 and 2006. In the years 2002, 2003,2004 and 2006 he was the number one Saint Bernard in Canada.

In August of 2007 the CKC awarded Hercules with his Grand Champion Title. 

Hercules will retire after his last show on September 3, 2007 at the Halifax Kennel Club but he will continue to work as Therapy Dog as a member of the Halifax Kennel Club. 

We have enjoyed a wonderful “ride” together.
